I'm passionate about helping people learn through the medium of nonfiction writing. Although I occasionally have an idea of my own, I mostly build education tools by recycling and repurposing other folks' ideas.

  1. I’ve always been a huge fan of both City of Night and The Group. Even though The Group occasionally seems just a little smug and Night can be more than a bit pretentious at times, both books had a huge impact on me when I first read them in the 60’s. I also remember enjoying Battle of the Villia Fiorita. However, since I have almost no memory of what it was about, I can’t really claim that it’s one of my favorites. Still, anything by Godden has to be worth reading at least once.

    1. Perhaps if I had read City of Night and The Group in the ’60s, I might have reacted differently. I’m afraid I had a very “student” response to both: I had to read them because that was the assignment. (Sometimes I regret having decided to read preset lists.)
