Kitty Foyle, The Nazarene top sellers two years running

Kitty Foyle was on the bestseller list in 1939 and again in 1940.  Despite its popularity, copies of the novel are hard to find. It was printed on cheap, wartime paper that didn’t hold up well.

If you can find a copy, you will find Kitty Foyle sounds remarkably up to date.

The Nazarene also hit the bestseller list in both 1939 and 1940. It’s paper was more durable, but the story is bizarre.
