Great Penformances widget

Great Penformances widget

The widget is a self-contained, miniature blog that looks like the image at the left. However, the widget is updated with live links each time a new review is posted to the Great Penformances blog.

The widget is a short bit of JavaScript. All you do is copy it and paste it into your web page. The content of the widget updates automatically each time I post to this blog. That means once you install the widget, your site visitors can get fresh content regularly without your having to do anything.

Widget installation

Installing a widget is a matter of cut-and-paste.

1. Go to the GreatPenformances widget on the Widgetbox site by clicking this link.

2. At the far right of the line below the GreatPenformances headline is a green button that says Get Widget. Click the button.

3. A pop-up screen that says Embed Code will open. Click the Copy button in that pop-up.  (Java Script is the default; ignore the Flash option.) You will see a message Code Copied but you will not see the code. It is copied to your computer clipboard.

4. Open the webpage where you want the widget to appear. Paste the code into the  code view of your web page using your keyboard paste command. (For Windows users, that’s CTRL + V)

That’s all there is to it.

I’m thrilled to find you! Purchased a used book today…at a local library book sale. It’s The Louis Bromfield Trilogy by Louis Bromfield. Not knowing this author, I decided to check him out and found you. What a great resource. Can’t wait to find (and read!) some of the books you talk about here.
